Alliant Energy's Geo-1 Mobile Education Vehicle is a 35-foot Winnebago motor coach loaded with interactive features that educate and motivate visitors about geothermal energy.

It includes two interactive touch-screen video terminals that lead users through the many features and benefits of geothermal heating and cooling systems.

It also includes a working residential-sized forced air heat pump system and a functional display of radiant floor heating. Visitors can get an estimate of the energy consumption and economic payback for their own homes.

Geo1 can be displayed either outdoors or indoors. Outdoors, it operates from its own 12kW generator. A 220VAC connection is needed indoors.	Visitors can get an on-site estimate of the economic and energy benefits of choosing a geothermal system.


Two touch-screen interactive displays are available, as well as a TV/VCR for viewing installations.	The geothermal story is graphically displayed on three back-lit boards like the one shown here.


Geo1 includes a fully functional 1.5-ton unit that can both heat and cool. The "earth" is a water tank stored below deck.	This display demonstrates the benefits of radiant floor heating and how it works with geothermal systems.
